First Appearance: Where's God When I'm S-Scared?
Filmography:
Where's God When I'm S-Scared? (1993): Larry co-hosts the show, and helps Junior Asparagus learn that God is bigger than any boogie man in "Tales From the Crisper." Larry sings his first Silly Song--"The Water Buffalo Song"--and is interrupted by an angry Archibald. This was the first of what was to become a integral part of VeggieTales--Silly Songs With Larry. Next, in "Daniel and the Lions' Den," Larry is Daniel, who knows that God will keep him safe even in the lions' den.
God Wants Me to Forgive Them?!? (1994): Larry co-hosts, and narrates "The Grapes of Wrath." In "Larry's Lagoon," first mate Larry, dreaming of being the captain someday, gets the ship and its passengers stranded on a desert island. He is finally forgiven by the others after attempting to leave them by sailing away on a raft.
Are You My Neighbor? (1995): Larry co-hosts, of course. Then he stars as a boy from the city of Flibber-O-Loo, who is walking his blue plastic wind-up lobster one day when he is mugged by three scallion robbers and dumped head-first into a hole. It is up to Junior to help the poor stuck cucumber. Next comes one of the all-time favorite Silly Songs, "The Hairbrush Song," an opera in which Larry laments over the loss of his hairbrush. Finally, Larry is Lieutenant on the U.S.S. Applepies, and he and Bob travel to earth to enlist Junior's help in saving their doomed ship.
Rack, Shack, and Benny (1995): Larry again co-hosts. Then he plays as Benny in the main story. He and Bob and Junior stand up for what they believe in, even though they know they may get thrown into the fiery furnace. In the middle of the story, Larry sings "The Dance of the Cucumber," an unforgettable Silly Song which ends up getting Bob pretty upset.
Dave and the Giant Pickle (1996): Feeling sorry for himself, Larry decides to make himself into a hero: Larry-Boy. Despite the trouble with his super-suction ears, Larry realizes (through Bob's telling of Dave and the Giant Pickle) that he doesn't have to be a hero to be special. But he still likes to act like he's one, anyway. Anyway, Larry also sings us another Silly Song, my personal favorite, "Love My Lips," in which Larry sees psychiatrist Archibald in order to diminish his fear of his lips ever leaving him and moving to Duluth.
The Toy That Saved Christmas (1996): Larry helps Bob, Junior, and Buzz-Saw Louie discover the true meaning of Christmas and share it with the citizens of Dinkletown. He also sings the special Christmas installment of Silly Songs, "Oh, Santa!"
A Very Silly Sing-Along (1997): Aside from appearing in most of the re-performed songs, Larry attempts to co-host the video, but keeps getting mixed up as to what the video is all about. After trying a workout video, home improvement video, and a success video, Bob tells Larry what the video was all about. Unfortunately, by this time, the video is almost over, but Larry decides to make a new Silly Song to close out the video: "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" (another of my personal favorites).
Larry-Boy and the Fib From Outer Space (1997): Larry co-hosts, and goes full-scale as a hero, the protector of Bumblyburg: Larry-Boy! Though unsuccessful in his attempt at trying to defeat the Fib, Larry-Boy manages to make himself into a real hero, and with the launch of his music video, Larry-Boy mania begins to sweep the nation.
Josh and the Big Wall! (1997): Larry is still asleep, so Junior takes his place as co-host. He and Bob use their imaginations to travel back in time to when the children of Israel defeated Jericho. In their minds' eyes, Larry is Josh, who leads the children to victory, despite all the insults (and slushies!) raining down on them. Larry also gives us the latest Silly Song, "The Song of the Cebu." It turns out to be quite a disaster, and Archibald disapprovingly decides to talk to Bob about getting a replacement for Silly Songs.
Madame Blueberry (1998): Larry co-hosts, and also is Madame Blueberry's butler in the classic French tale of "Madame Blueberry." He and a host of others finally help her to see that she doesn't need "stuff" to be happy. Larry begins his new Silly Song, but is interrupted by Archibald, who gives Larry the stunning announcement that Silly Songs is canceled until further notice.
Silly Sing-Along 2: The End of Silliness? (1998): Larry is lamenting the loss of his Silly Songs while in Jimmy Gourd's Ice Cream Parlor, while Jimmy tries to console him. Larry appears in several of the music videos, which Jimmy plays in hopes of cheering Larry up. Finally, Archibald, having seen Larry suffer, reinstates Silly Songs permanently. Larry is overjoyed, and immediately plugs in his newest song: "The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps." Larry, of course, also appears in several of the other songs too.
