Jimmy Gourd

Type of vegetable, fruit, etc.: Gourd

First Appearance: Are You My Neighbor?

Jimmy, like his brother, has a tremendous appetite. He first appeared as one of the rather odd new crew members of the U.S.S. Applepies. He and Jerry saved the ship from impending doom in the form of a popcorn meteor. Jimmy returned as one of Dave's sheep-tipping brothers in "Dave and The Giant Pickle." Wanting to see some real aliens, Jimmy gets a job at the Bumblyburg Science Lab, but is rather bored with the job, until the day that the Fib is seen on-screen. Jimmy and his brother build the "Wallminator 3000" to destroy the walls of Jericho in "Josh and the Big Wall," however, they never use it. Jerry, tired of switching jobs constantly, decides to settle down and open up an ice cream parlor. He has a slightly upset customer one day (Larry) whom he tries to console.

Filmography:

Are You My Neighbor? (1995): Jimmy and his brother save the U.S.S. Applepies from colliding with a giant popcorn meteor.

Dave and the Giant Pickle (1996): Jimmy plays as one of Dave's teasing, sheep-tipping brothers, but soon learns that Dave can do just as much, if not more, than "big guys" if God's on his side.

A Very Silly Sing-Along (1997): Jimmy helps a confused Larry put on the very first VeggieTales Home Improvement Video, but accidently turns off the bathroom water instead of the kitchen water, making things rather wet for Larry. He also appears in several of the re-performed songs.

Larry-Boy and the Fib From Outer Space (1997): Jimmy is bored (B-O-R-D bored!) with his job at the Bumblyburg Science Lab, until one day when the Fib appears from outer space.

Josh and the Big Wall (1997): Jimmy builds the "Wallminator 3000" in hopes of destroying Jericho. Finally, he agrees to God's way of doing things, but the poor gourd ends up with slushy in his ear and dust in his contacts along the way. He also attends Larry's Silly Song performance, but wants his money back because of the poor quality of the song.

Silly Sing-Along 2: The End of Silliness? (1998): Jimmy owns the ice cream parlor in which Larry enters, still crying over the loss of his Silly Songs. Jimmy tries to console him, even going far enough to offer Larry a cup full of sprinkles, but to no avail. Larry is finally happy when Archibald reinstates Silly Songs. Jimmy also appears in a couple of the songs.
